Tai Chi

The 37 move short form (based on the teachings of Cheng Man Ching) is designed to introduce the basics of Tai Chi and its principles at any level and takes between six months and a year to learn depending on the number of classes attended. This learning curve is divided into various methods of practice. The training is also based on Master Huang Sheng Shyan’s system of Yang-Style Tai Chi, through the teaching of Patrick Kelly, and the form has evolved with the approach to fluidity, dynamics, relaxation and the internal flow of chi/qi through the body which assists the learning process and the integration of taiji. We utilise aspects of Push-Hands, as well as visualization and relaxation.

Our Method:-
1) 1st 6 mths: 5-loosening exercises + “Short Taiji-form”
Two-person-exercise – “Seven-pushes”
Principles:
Accurate – Relaxed – Upright – Stable.
2) 2nd 6 mths: Revision of the “Short Taiji-form” 3 Basic Pushing-hands patterns.
Principles:
Smooth – Continuous – Body Moves as One (hands follow body).
