Awareness In Understanding Tai Chi as Meditation in Movement.

For students with more than twelve months’ taiji practice Develop your practice at a three-hour workshop on the theme of movement as meditation.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the core principles of tai-chi and qigong by exploring different modalities. Breathing and visualisation techniques will help you attain a more tangible sense of
relaxation and focus. The gentle movements of tai-chi and qigong form ‘a moving meditation’ or ‘moving in stillness’, heightening self-awareness and instilling self-discipline contributing
to a feeling of well-being, dissolving inner tensions and quieting the ‘mind’. The workshop will take place on Sunday February 2 at 9.00am in Bronte (further details on
application).
9.00am – 10.30am
Introduction to the principles and physical movements of of the body
. • MEDITATION • MOVEMENT • SHAKING • LIFTING AND SINKING • BREATHING • FLOOR EXERCISES
Break 10.30am to 10.45am (tea and light snack)
10.45am to 12.00pm
The use of the mind as an intention to move the body • VISUALISATIONS • TAI CHI MOVEMENTS • QIGONG EXERCISES • MINDFULLNESS IN MOVEMENT
