Rosie

Tai Chi Student and Expert Photographer

I am originally from Ireland and my favourite memories of growing up there were of summer holidays on wild beaches in the cold Atlantic Ocean and the equally chilly Irish Sea. I have lived and travelled all over the world and have now settled in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Since taking up photography in 2013 and tai chi in 2023 this has given me the means, creative intention and the opportunity to capture both the ocean and the the community that is attached to it in this very special part of the world that I now call home. I also do commissions and portraits of people bringing my own style and editing to the final shots so if you like and connect with my style please feel free to contact me to have a chat about this. I do like to form a connection and relationship with people that I take photos/portraits of so that I can really capture the essence of you in a very personal and intimate way.

I am not after perfection as I like to capture natural moments in both the natural environment (ocean/surf/sky) or with the local community of people – moments in time . I use my full frame Nikon d800 mainly for my surf/ocean shots. And then my Leica M9 for my people shots which produce a very particular type of fine art style and mood in the photos you will see in my gallery. I also have a Leica underwater camera too for shots in pools and in water which again produces a very distinctive effect . You will find me a lot of mornings taking shots at either Bondi, Tamarrama or Bronte and occasionally further afield. Come say Hi :)
